Google Earth for Nexus One Available for Download

The iPhone will no longer be the only smartphone with a Google Earth App.

Google Earth app for the Nexus One is available for download right now. It will only work on the Nexus One initially, with other Android 2.1 devices in the future.

HTC Desire ROM + Flash 10.1 for Nexus One

How'd you like to have HTC Sense and Flash 10.1 on your Nexus One right now? Paul on the Modaco Forums has released an alpha version of the HTC Desire ROM with HTC Sense for Nexus One. And as mentioned above, with the ROM you get Flash 10.1! Since its an alpha ROM, there's a few bugs so use at your own risk.

Opera Mobile coming to Android 

At MWC 2010, the upcoming Opera Mobile was demoed on the Nexus One. It's packed with features on top of a really nice UI. You won't find the Opera Mobile on the Android market like their Opera Mini, but rather pre-installed on headsets. We don't have a release date for it yet.

Adobe AIR and Flash coming to Android this year

Adobe announced at MWC that Adobe Air Mobile is coming to Android second half of this year, then WebOS, Symbian, Windows Mobile and BlackBerry devices. You can see a demonstration of Adobe AIR Mobile in the embedded video below. And let's not forget about Flash, it's slated for a first half of the year launch.

3D frame rate test: Nexus One vs iPhone 3GS


The folks at Distinctive Developments posted a video of Nexus One against iPhone 3GS in a 3D frame rate test. As shown in the video embedded after the break, the Nexus One in general didn't perform as well, all due to the lack of use of Neon floating-point optimization in the Nexus One. Google gives Nexus Ones away at TED

Turns out that for the 1500 or so attendees ($6000 a ticket) at TED yesterday, each and everyone of them got a Nexus One from Google.  Being that most of the attendees are influential, this may be a really smart move by Google.


Nexus One Early Termination Fee Slashed

After a recent FCC Inquiry, Google has slashed its early termination fee on the Nexus One from $350 to $150. and the $250 fee for existing T-Mobile customers upgrading to the phone was lowered to $50.  Way to go Google this is awesome news for all of us that have purchased the Nexus One.  The only catch is the $200 fee from T-Mobile for early termination is still applicable, but at least they are helping out the unhappy customers a little bit.


Google adds Nexus One Phone Support

When the nexus One was launched, the only support offered by google was via the help forum, which in some ways lacked that personal touch. But finally Google added phone support, specifically for the nexus one.
